I have two friends who had problems while using it, even though they followed directions and are very experienced chicken owners. One lost her roo, as the poster above yours stated, the other found hers in distress, got the collar off, and he recovered. So it's a judgement call.- Blooie

I will ask her, and let her know that you sent your condolences. She feels so horrible. Edited to add: I am not condemning the product itself, because I don't know enough about them to make that call. I'm just imploring folks to be careful if they do choose to use them.- Blooie
