Hope everyone is having a good day in spite of this lovely weather. I was just outside with my brother and realized I have three crazy hens in my flock. All of them but three are in the house out of the rain but, these three are standing out in the rain like it's a beautiful day at the beach...

The nearest one to you would be Holly Springs and I know that is not very close. What you might try is talking to a business that you deal with and see if they can start carrying it for you. It just might create more business for your local food dealer. Best of luck. Jimmy

Good morning y'all. I have 3 weeks left before I leave for the Philippines and I need to find a new rooster for my flock before leaving. I am looking for an Australorp to put new blood line in my flock. So I was wondering if anyone in the Johnston County or near by area might have one they...

I buy mine directly from the mill in Benson and get the crumbles which is a lot better for my flock because they don't like the size of the pellets either. The pellet size is a little large. And it creates waste. Maybe the store you get it from can get the crumbles.

A question for those flockers that may live around the Johnston county area. How many of you are familiar with Mule City Natural Backyard Layer Feed. I started using it about two months ago and my flock looks great and are laying better than they were with Purina Layena. The reason I am...

Good chilly morning all. It has been about 28 hours since I got the new babies in. They fared pretty good last night in this lovely weather, Out of 26 I lost two. Both of them appeared to be stressed upon arrival. I think because they were super small in size compared to the others. I...

I like that. It's not the proverbial HOUSE ON THE HILL. But rather the HOUSE IN THE HILL. Cool.

That's interesting because I have less chickens and they are laying more than I could have ever imagined. Three are laying an average of 15 eggs per week. All the others are on strike and laying absolutely ZERO. One that is laying is a barred rock and she is on a record pace. She misses one...

Australorps are my second favorite. My favorite is the Light Sussex. Of which I have ZERO. And I will not be getting any now. Because I leave in 30 days for the Philippines. And it could be several years before I return for a long enough period of time to get any. I do plan on trying to...

Good morning all. Hope everyone is prepared for this warm weather for the next couple of days. I got a call this morning at 6:30 AM telling me my babies arrived at the post office. They allowed me to come down, ring the bell, and get them. Got them from e-fowl. Austrolorps, 25, and all...
