Floated incubated eggs, egg sank but moved

Yay, thankyou Lacrystol, I had 5 eggs in the incubator that my son had put in to 'keep them safe'. I worked out they were about 2 week in to incubation. Humidity had been held at 40% and misting daily. I ladi them in the centre of my incubator as it is autoturn and had chick eggs in too. I...

Floated incubated eggs, egg sank but moved

Well two female ducklings out of 8 eggs. Meant to be backyard quality Cayugas, so white chests and lower white jaw, very cute and couldn't possibly part with them. One has the most interesting white swirling/motling on its head and patchy yellow black face....love them. Rechecked the...

I have a fan force incubator with autoturn function, humidity and temp control. I hadn't gotten a liquid thermometer at the time of hatch but think the incubator temp is...

Floated incubated eggs, egg sank but moved

Just updating. I carefully opened one of the assumed dud eggs. The duckling was nearly fully developed, head nearly under wing, but large yolk sac and dead. Did gently open the next one after candling, membrane thick but well receeded and no movement or smell. Gnetley opened the membrane and...

Floated incubated eggs, egg sank but moved

Hi I have incubated a dozen home laid duck eggs, I had the humidity at 55%, took down weights butthe most weight they lost was about 9%. Figured this out too late to make much difference and the air sacs were pretty small. Candling showed movement in all eggs at day 22, most appeared ok at lock...
