Hello to all that were there....what a great time!! Thanks for coming...some from a loooonnng way. Let's plan another one for the early spring sometime.
Kelly, thanks so much for hosting us. Take care of Felix and Apple!!
I had a request from someone who cannot attend but is looking for 2 nice young laying hens...large fowl.
Is anyone bringing something like this? She's not particular about breed...she just wants a good egg layer.
Also, she has 2 orpington roos (I think buffs) that I am going to bring for...

I have a little 4-5 weeks old barred/mottled cochin bantam pullet that is spraddle-legged. I just didn't have the heart to put her down. She get around in the brooder just fine...she can walk upright...just kinda' like she's pushing off on snow ski's. She eats and drinks great and...

If your friend is bringing mottled cochins, I would be interested in a young pullet 3-5 weeks old, I have a blind Orp baby and she needs a sweet, quiet pal for a pen mate..

I have a friend who is coming and bringing chickens. I don't know exactly what he is going to bring, but he has a coop full of mottled bantam cochins and a coop full of white silkies. He'll probably bring some of both of those.
Kelley...sorry about your hen. We lost a big, beautiful light brahma hen yesterday too. She was in her coop with the other girls. Looks like she flew into a post and broke her neck. I have another "old lady" that is getting slower and slower. We'll proably lose her this winter. I noticed...
I don't remember if I mentioned before but I am bringing 2 black frizzle cochin cockerels (bantam). Pretty nice birds. They are 4 months old and already "know how"
I'm bringing the following:
1 bantam cochin partridge pullet (formerly thought to be a cockerel by one Jesslyn! )about 12-13 weeks old
1 bantam cochin blue cockerel...same age as one above...VERY NICE cockerel
1 bantam cochin splash pullet...same age as one above...also VERY NICE
About 6...
Everybody that has them should bring fertilized eggs!! I hope my bantam black cochins (SQ) will be laying by then. We moved them from Mississippi 2 months ago and they were beginning to molt then and still haven't started laying at our place.
Kellie...so exactly where is the swap meet going to be? I know it's Nov. 22...we'll be there for sure.
I have some nice cochins, various ages, that I'll bring. Maybe I'll go ahead and get some eggs for the bator and hatch some cochin chicks. My little mottled hen is molting now, so no eggs...
