    I'd try putting him in the brooder if you do not have too many chicks. He seems pretty fat and sassy otherwise. But keep an eye on them. You may have to move him out if they are rolling him or stepping on him.

    Yes. See how full and round his belly is? This means that he has at least started to absorb the yolk sac. You should be able to gently pull back a bit of the membrane right below his feet there and if there isn't a yolk sac hanging off of his belly, I would try to ease the membrane down. I...

    The yolk sac should look like a little yellow/orange sac attached to the belly between the legs.

    If you have help get someone to prepare you a warm area to work, a heat lamp or space heater.

    Do the veins look bright red? Pink?

    Wet the membrane down really well with warm water(avoiding the chick's pip hole) and tell me what you see in the way of veins. If you have removed the entire shell, you should be able to determine if the yolk sac is absorbed as well.
