I found this: http://www.poultryhelp.com/spraddle.html
And I'm going to try it, when my hubbie gets home to help me.....
But....my chick doesn't look exactly like the one in the picture.

Nope, no more chicks. I have 13 chicks and one isn't doing so well. It's not standing up and the other chicks are pecking at him so I separated him from the others, and fed him some water with a syringe. Is there anything else I can do for him?
Also, I feel really dumb for not realizing this...

Ok, I will dip their beaks today. I've seen a few eating too. Yes, I'm going to give the other six an extra day. When I candled them, some were just bright yellow, no blob, and I marked them Infertile. A couple I marked with a ?, and maybe they will hatch late?
Yes, isn't that a...
Well, I have 13 in the brooder, and I'm keeping the other 6 eggs in the 'bator just in case, but I think they are all infertile. I'm having some trouble keeping the brooder at the right temp, so I had to get out the foil and towels to try to insulate one end, and got the temp up. So far I've...

I'm using an aquarium for a brooder, with a nice lid on the top, and it used to have a turtle in it, so I'm wondering what should I clean it with? I want to kill any possible germs from the...

Apparentlly the peeps from the kitchen are attracting my cat Roxy...I have to keep a...

Thanks! We will see how they are after I get back from church! So far I have two chicks who are beginning to try. I have my brooder set up and warming.

One has completely hatched, and one more is really working at it.
My first chick is propping him self up over some eggs. What temp should it be in there? It's at 99 right now, is the floor too hot?
Wow! this is so cool!

I just got home, and I have five pipping eggs out of 10 fertile!! This is sooooooo exciting! I'm wondering when I should pop the vents on my incubator?

OOOh, I could hide it in the bath tub!
I picked up PINE bedding today at walmart. I'm really low on cash at the moment, and I might just use a card board box...... if only a few hatch, I can try my cat carrier.
Dove
The plastic container might work, but I also have cats and a dog.... That's why I thought of the cat carrier. I also have dog crate that I'm not using, but I just don't have the space to put it in the house. I might use the crate in the garage, when they are old enough/big enough to not get out...
