Yeah I thought she was crazy at first but it really worked. I've had one for 5 years and ended up using it on my new born puppies that came out breech. It's great for clearing their nostrils instead of a syringe which can hurt them. Mine stays in the first aid box now

About 8 years ago a friend showed me her rooster, he had a comb similar to that. I had asked how it kept clean. So she showed me. She uses one of those battery ear wax vacs. It's just strong enough to suck the muck out and the tips are small and soft :) It's also quiet. Might be worth investing...
