You don't need to fill all the chanels. This way your humidity won't go up so high. Try putting the water in a little at a time.
I don't open my bator to add water. I have a hose you use for an Aquarium, got a little bottle from Wal mart for less than a dollar (they are travel...
Please note that this may seem like I have asked the same questions only in a different fashion...I probably have. The below is a copy I did from another thread. I am curious regarding the pre-lockdown humidity. Maybe I am adding water that is too warm (probably baby bottle warm) when I refill...

So true. My DH keeps reminding me of this. Thank you for the input. I just want to make sure that there was nothing in my control that I could have done to help the situation out.
Thank you for your input, I appreciate it.
First off - Yes I changed my avatar to some of my babies from my first hatch.
Now: I have a question for all you chicken pros and for the Brinsea knowers:
I own a Brinsea Octo 20 with rocker. No I do not have the added humidity thing.

You are not going to believe this:
When I got home tonight (at 6), there were 3 pips. For the record: Eggs in incubator: April 21, 2011. Count April 22, 2011 as day 1. Temp: 99.5-.7 entire time. Little to no deivation. Humidity: 40-50%, closest to 40 to 45%. Today is per day 1 count - day...

A cloth in the channels? What does this do?
Also, how do you see if they have pipped internally?
Sorry, I am very new.
Humidity was reading at 50% with both channels full so I dipped a cloth (dishcloth) in the channels and laid it out under the eggs. That did the trick and now...
Okay, I have a Brinsea Octo 20....I did not get the humidity attachment....but I do have the rocker arm.
Question: I have 26 eggs in the incubator, they are in lock down. I filled both channels with water, the vent is 1/3 open. I had a hard time getting the humidity up to 65%. (that's not...

At the time I joined I only had 3 geriatric dogs....well we "acquired" 2 young dogs (I started working at a vet office)...I wish I could change it to add 5dogs...etc. I was hoping to be able to get the numbers all in a row...but could not figure out how to do it. Thank you for enjoying...
