Im referring to Modern Game Bantams actually. A friend has one. I was assuming it was because they were bred to look like their bigger game bird cousins, which I guess is a correct assumption. Thanks for the info.

NYREDS- Question....why is it part of the standard for OEGs and MGBs? Is it because of the heritage of fighting/game birds? I'm not against it. I just think the little combs are cute on those tiny little roos.

I think it is a shame they have to be dubbed to show. I like their little combs! I couldn't do it myself either.

Interesting...since every show we have been to has not been a "pretend" show, nor have they been run by 4H. County and state fairs are not 4H events, which is what 4Hers enter into along with other, large poultry shows. The 4H poultry leaders are breeders and exhibitors themselves. Why...

Your local 4H office might be able to help you find someone who dubs locally to you. A bad dub job will also lose you points. I know Modern Game Bantam cockerels must be dubbed to show and I think OEG are the same.
