Same here! Then someone here mentioned hauling them curled up on their sides and that sounds so much better than the hooped up version of the haul....gonna try that next time.

I just use some sturdy zip ties and they have held up in wind, rain, sun and snow for the past 3 years and STILL are giving me fits when I try to cut them off....wish I had invented zip ties. And cattle panels. I'll tell you just how tough they are...I have a set of slender zip ties, one on...

Got mine on Amazon and it was a very reasonable price, comparable to other tarps in the stores of that size but much more durable and tough in construction. They are clear tarps with a white fiber woven/sealed into the clear, so very much light can come through. I'll get a pic of it when I get...

Best small coop setup I've seen yet...very nice! The tarps I put on three years ago have finally worn thin on the sides, though the top is still mighty fine due to the points you have stressed....tight tarp with an underlayer of doubled up 4 mil plastic to protect the tarp from the metal...

Usually the hoop houses are covered with a tarp of some kind.

We haul a lot of ungainly loads in our trucks around here...sometimes I feel like the Clampett clan moving to Beverly Hills. Very conspicuous loads and you have to drive through town looking straight ahead so you won't see people gawking and pointing.... Sort of like this....

I would have preferred that to this way, much less movement of the panels as one is driving~we had to ratchet strap these down to decrease that bounce...as it was, Mama was afraid her truck was going to get scratched, so I was lucky to even persuade her to haul them for me.

You know? I'd love to! I had a great deal of fun building this hoop house and putting in little touches to the design that I liked and watching it rise from the ground to form this chicken hut after seeing all the materials lying flat, just a little bit of nothing....that rose to form...

I call that the sawsall shake...a little dance I don't like to do as it leaves a nasty feeling in my hands, to hold that fencing when the saw is cutting. Igg! That's why I fastened mine down before cutting edges and holes...then I didn't have to hold it!

Yep...I just fastened the panel as is to the end of the hoop and cut around the shape of the arch with a sawsall. That has become my favorite power tool, right up there with my DeWalt drill, for versatility and plain ol' gettin er done capabilities.

What you are making seem pretty standard to how others are making them except the chicken wire...most are using hardware cloth but I would use a square size up from the hardware cloth so that broad leaf plants could emerge through the wire. If I had a run and was planting a grow frame I'd use...

How stinkin' cute!!! I LOVE the raised beds beside it and I would never have thought the lattice would be strong enough to take a load of snow...I'll have to be rethinking my next hoop structure as I'm kind of wanting to add a winter porch off the back of my hoop coop without putting too much...

That sounds perfect! Can you post a pic of your hoop run and the raised beds? It sure would be a great idea for others to follow..and think about how much nutrients from the run is leaching into those growing beds!

Yes. I no longer move it and it is most likely in the place it will stay. I use a deep litter and I want to build that for a long time.

Mine is an 8x10 for a sq. ft space for 20 birds at 4 sq ft. per bird. I'd go with a 10x12 for that many birds. I often wish I had went with that size anyway, just for more walking around room in the coop. This is mine...first two pics of of its current position and the other pics are right...

A person could attach welded wire to the whole bottom of such a coop~like a giant wire floor~ and make it predator safe from anything digging in...well, except rats.

Quote: They do if properly tarped but you could always add/stack hay or straw bales outside the coop and then bring the tarping out to cover that, if you felt they needed more insulation. Bringing your tarps all the way under the bales and attaching to the coop would keep the ground moisture...
