@Miss Lydia Success! The three of them went in together to sleep in the goose house. All was quiet and peaceful. :)

Yeah, trying to figure out how many drakes I have and trying to decide which ones I want to keep. They will all go in the main pen with my little flock of six but I need to separate the drake for awhile. Part of the ducklings(3)are new blood for my flock....Welsh Harlequins....part are...

Well.....last night I decided would be the night. When I shut everyone up for the night I was running the goslings into the house with my goose and she had a FIT! She hissed and hissed and lowered her neck to run them right out. So I backed off. This was with them still in her temporary pen...

Yep...I need to get a pic. Beginning to look like shanty town here too! :) sorry didn't mean to confuse you. Serena, my goose thinks she is a duck from being raised with them and so I guess I get confused too. LOL I am in southern WV. :)

These are my only geese. Their new house that we just finished yesterday is 3'x6' and stands 4 1/2' tall. I have my new ducklings over there for now. But it was built for the geese. I swear her big square house looks roomier to me than the new house. She is the last one to go up at night. My...

@Miss Lydia They are not snuggling ....yet....but really close. They laid along the fence line yesterday with the two goslings laying together and my goose only about a foot away....just chilling and pulling grass out of the fence line. The gander quit chasing my goose and now the three of...

Okay, they are a month old tomorrow and they have been outside loose in the pen with her for several days....no snuggling on her part, she still studiously ignores them. Unbelievably, I think she is afraid of them. :( The little gander chases her and she runs away. Will this change? I still...

Will do that when I lock up tonight. Thanks! It might have seemed like a silly question and I guess it was. I just love that silly goose so much I don't want to mess her up.

Now my goose has decided to sit 2 infertile eggs. TIGHT. As in barely coming out of her house. Goslings are down there having a blast but she is still tight on her nest. She hid these eggs well. Do I bust up her nest? Let her sit?

I intend to do that tomorrow and for a bit everyday after that. By the time I brought them in tonight, she was near their crate grazing. She had stayed as far away as she could all day and ignored them. So....baby steps. They were loving it outside though. :)

They have been outside for two days. She is studiously ignoring them. I have them set up in a dog crate beside her house. They have been loving it. I will continue to bring them in at night for awhile. Mainly because their crate is no protection from rain, etc. At least she is no longer hissing...

It has rained so hard here until this weekend that they haven't been back outside. :( I am going to try to get them back out there tomorrow. Not something I have been happy about but not much I could do about it either. :( will update tomorrow.

My goose Serena is supposed to be Tufted Buff also but she has no tuft. I didn't get a good enough pic of it but these two most definitely have a tuft. :) After last year's water bowl accident with Serena's buddy, I am super nervous about water. Even if it means I have to be constantly filling...

The goslings are here....and so adorable. I took them out today in a little wire carrier to visit with my goose....she hissed! I had never heard her hiss before. She paced back and forth a couple times hissing at them. The ducks on the other side of the fence crowded the fence trying to get a...

I can do that! Thank you! I would have felt a lot better about this if she had gone back to laying because birds of all species only lay if they feel safe or comfortable. She wants to mother the ducks and I believe that is where she and the drake got cross ways of each other. He simply wasn't...

I had to separate my lone goose out of the duck pen almost two weeks ago because my drake was beating up on her and not letting her out to eat and drink. She now has her only little parallel pen next to the ducks(so she can see them, she has missed them so badly) and somewhat seems to have...
