Up to six! The earliest hatcher is being kind of aggressive to the others... Nipping them and also digging around in old shells. He even harrassed a chick as it was breaking out of its shell... Guess that's the dominant one lol
Up to 4 and the 5th is actively starting to push himself out :). Am planning on moving the dried off ones into the brooder around noon. Do they stop hatching at night?
Two have fully and successfully hatched. Numerous others are pipped and by morning I hope to have a incubator full of peeps! I'm planing on putting most of them in my brooder at that time :)
The first egg to show signs of hatching shows new pieces of eggs broken! When I looked really close I could see movement. The egg appears to have some sort of membrane intact underneath the egg shell that is not yet pierced.
So each individual should be allowed to dry and then moved to the brooder? Should I expect all of these guys to pile out pretty quick then? 3 of the eggs went in 2 days after the rest
Woke up this morning to find one of my eggs beginning to hatch!!! Should I just leave them alone? The egg turner is off, temp set at 99.5, humidity 60-70%. I have a brooder ready to go with a heat lamp, food and a waterer ready to go. How soon after hatching should I remove the bird?
