Rescued a very neglected Indian Runner.. need advice pls

Well. I tried my best. Put the vitamins on peas, pellets etc. she will not touch any of it. 😀 a bit suspicious of everything, that one. Ha. I decided it was for her own good so I scooped her up last night and used the dropper to put the meds right down her throat. I’ll do it for a few days...

Oooh ok. I also have Vit B complex in liquid form. Question. How do I ensure she gets it? She doesn’t drink from the water buckets (fresh twice a day). She only drinks from the pool when swimming or the fountain …. Must I separate her? I feel that will stress her out. Yes she is so...

Goodness. I didn’t realize an older duck could all of a sudden develop a Niacin deficiency- I thought it was something you treated when they were young! Well shoot. I can do that! I’ll go back to brewers yeast in the pellets every day. Thank you for the response.

Hello everyone 😀 it’s me again / I am hoping for some advice on my little lady Hazel. Who has completely healed up, is coming up to me for treats (altho doesn’t eat out of my hand yet) and looks amazingly healthy!! 💗 my sweet girl. But! Her molt took a while … she only finished maybe 2 weeks...

Oh interesting!! Thank you. I’ve been listening carefully and don’t hear it when she’s out of water. But that does make sense since her little feet are always kicking when she swims! Whereas my other ducks float around a bit more 😀

Rescued a very neglected Indian Runner.. need advice pls

Alright. Well everyone (the ducks 😀) was crying and running back and forth beside the expen together … so I did it. I opened the door and waited to see what would happen. Some people will be ok with my decision… some won’t. But I am so proud of her. Here are some photos of their very...

I wish i had taken photos of when I picked her up. Sad but yes, would have been nice to see the change. The only photo I have is of her feet that I posted - and that was after 2 swims in my tub 😀

Here are 3 I took yesterday when we graduated out of the playpen onto the sunroom floor in an expen. 💗 And thank you!! I am so proud of her! She has done far better than I could have imagined - just needed some love and care.

Oh good to know :) that’s an easy fix. Hazel’s feet are looking so amazing!!! My husband even commented on them yesterday! They are starting to get less “dull” looking and appear clean and almost shiny like my other ducks 💗 and she preens like crazy now!!! Often 😀 good girl!!

Is that right?!! Oh I hope so!! I’ve never introduced an adult before. I’ve raised my few here together within a few weeks of hatching from each other. I planned to put an expen in my yard while my others graze around her. Then eventually let her loose. I hope it’s smooth.

Thank you! U are so wonderful at replying 😀 I so appreciate it!! Ok! Well she eats like a champ haha. And no I never hear her breathing other times. And yes she is definitely losing feathers! And she already looks so different than when I picked her up! Even my husband said her feather...
