I’ve decided to keep this guy.
I just love my Turkens!
He looks almost identical to his dad, Angus except he is NN and dad was Nn.
He’s huge!
At 3 months old he’s taller than my adult hens and right now he’s all legs lol.
Aww thank you! :love
I can’t really take any credit though.
I actually think the one on the left came from my Speckled Sussex egg but I’m not sure.
I need to pay more attention to which eggs I set so I can tell buyers what they are. That matters to some people.
My Speckled Sussex lay smaller...
Thank you for this. It really helps.
I’m still not sure who’s eggs my two Naked Neck chicks came from.
I know I set one of Agatha’s eggs and she’s Na/Na.
I may have set one of Emily’s too and she’s Na/na as well as my previous roo, Angus.
Anyway, here’s a photo of these two chicks.
They’re...
Instead of going to Dunlap, I went by D&B and they had Barred Rocks and EEs.
So I got two of each.
One EE is a gorgeous chocolate brown with chipmunk stripes and the other is a light buff color with chipmunk stripes.
First I put all 9 chicks together for a day.
The bantams were pecking the...
Thank you for the information.
I think I’m gonna wait on these to see what kind of reviews they get.
I noticed that Dunlap doesn’t put reviews on their website but there’s some yelp reviews of them.
They’re kind of mixed.
I’m planning on going down there tomorrow to see what they have.
I’ve...
I’m sorry your roo died!
That’s terrible :(
Hopefully the Dunlap NNs will work out well for you.
They offer them as meat birds so hopefully they have some size on them.
I’m going to be putting Cleo in with Oliver’s (my Black Australorp cockerel) flock since I don’t want her father breeding...
@cactusrota
Have you ever crossed your NNs with Cornish?
Not Cornish X!
Just the Cornish breed.
I’m considering that as a possibility for a better table bird but my NN roo Angus is fairly big but I haven’t weighed him.
Dunlap is selling them now but they’re under the “Broiler” category.
I think they’re only straight run...not sure.
I actually live about 45 minutes from Dunlap Hatchery but I didn’t get my NNs from them.
I got mine from TSC and I think they source from Hoover Hatchery.
I’m definitely interested!
My NN roo, Angus, looks a lot like your guy.
I’ve been wondering for a long time whether he may carry the colored egg gene.
I have a daughter of his out of one of my NN pullets, Emily.
Emily’s egg is a cream color with a slight blush of pink.
I can’t wait for the...
