I do, Negan is my only breeding rooster so any eggs I sale are covered by him.
I have four laying hens 3 LF the lighter buff color and Rene there is closer to bantam size and more mahogany.
Negan has a wonderful personality. He's never flogged, good to the girls and watches chicks.
His fertility...
This years babies three girls and two boys. So far lovely personalities.:) First we have Prince, he looks like his mom. Next is Henry, he protects me from sodas. This is Miss.KimMiss.Stacey Miss Barbara.
And dad Negan, and mom Rene.:)
Well I'm glad you found the little silly thing. I'm sure she's still talking your ear off about it! Good thing faverolles carry a little extra chunkiness right? Never thought I'd say that. ;)
I'm laughing but I'm just thinking about how many times you're going to have to do something like this with Fling lol! Faverolles are goofy little things. I wouldn't worry about her face, my girls redden up sometimes. :)
Really, that's a thick body for a roo and a really thick tail base. I don't think the comb is an indicator of sex as much as it is a result of it's breeding much like the color. My girls were thick and fluffy like that, my roo was puny looking beside them, he's just now the littlest bit bigger...
Iv'e never personally seen a white one,i know they exist though. The pictures iv'e seen are loveley, but i really hate to hear they're jerks. My salmons wouldn't hurt a fly....nearly literally.:)
One of mine is going on 7 months and no egg,the other started laying at 6 months went broody for 2 days that was 3or4 days ago and no egg since. So i wouldn't worry about your girl's heath, they're just really odd layers. The breeding thing,im not familiar with marans, but i did ask the same...
Oh honey i just spent two solid days putting frozen veggies under a chicken butt because my little teenager went broody. Her sister played broody but nothing serious but Miss Tucks went all out broody puffing and fussing. She's only been laying a good month. I want chicks, but not until spring...
I would say as soon as you feel comfortable doing it and they're big enough not to get stepped on. Favs are a little bit different when it comes to new chickens they aren't automatically out for blood if anything Fling might be scared of them hence the big enough not to get stepped on. Just keep...
The ladies here aren't so much fearful as they are just totally mellow. Not at all the case when they were chicks though several times I thought those kids were going to have heart attacks absolutely everything terrified them.
Peaceful little birds. Loud, goofy peaceful little birds. I'm getting older and I'm dead serious about making these my entire flock after my other girls pass. The lack of henpecking alone makes them worth it. Sometimes they aren't the smartest things but neither am I lol! :)
My two were hatched together and are pretty much inseparable. I have one that is a little more independent and one big baby, the baby never looses sight of the other. Rooster used to be part of the mix but those hussy hens got him. You could always try a faverolles buddy for yours, at least you...
