It's getting better with age. Now he doesn't really stand "on" them, just over them. I have a bantam rooster, an RSL rooster, and now my barred rock. I realized he only mates with them a lot in the morning, so I separate him until he calms down.
I just caught him (he is very hard to catch) and he does have a lot of feathery down. In fact he actually feels a little boney and skinny. I want him to gain weight but I don't want him to get heavier for the girls.
It's not on purpose. He just doesn't know his size 🤣 This Morning a hen went to get a drink from the water bowl and he took his opportunity. he ran at her full speed, jumped on her, and landed in the water bucket. I felt bad, but it was hilarious. The poor hen was like "what??"🤣🤣
