Welcome! First time quailer here too. Mine hatched 2 weeks ago this weekend and gearing up for the move outside! I have raised chickens for a while so i made this logical step. I am looking forward ti starting to sex theses guys soon. 1 word of advice is to learn what you need as you need it...

Where are you firefly? I live in east texas and were hittin 110 with heat index all week last week. But lots of people love fermented feed here. I was just curious...but i guess my real question is this: there isnt anything wrong about using fermented feed for game birds?

Does anyone do FF for quail or other gamebirds?

30 chicks!? Id be keeping an eye for sure...cant hide that many too easily

Came home to find one more in the hatcher...looks like it might have a wry neck...or was just lookin at me funny through the window in my hovabator! Its still wet so ill give it time to fluff before i make any decisions.

what do you use it for? i would love to grow some natural health boosters for my birds. just had to do a respiratory infection preventive to my flock and would much rather grow stuff that would help instead of tainting their water with meds

I did a dry incubation. My bater dtayed at around 30% until lock down when i bumped it to 60

Yours are hatching on day 18? I have 10 that hatched on day 16. This my first try at quail and first time incubating. 10/36 so far

Im up to 3 now. First time hatching anything. Pretty exciting!!

How do you all monitor your egg progression? does anyone candle these small eggs? or weigh them? or is it more of a set your temps and cross your fingers?
