    I've had a chick which pipped at the pointy end hatch by its self in only a couple of hours, but most of the time you have to help them. How long ago did it pip?

    Yay how exciting! I'm sure that the chick will be absolutely fine- it's a pretty exhausting ordeal for it so its probally just resting. If it has enough strengh to pip and begin unzipping, then it'll probally have enough energy to hatch- just give it time! Good luck :)

    That's really cool! I'm planning on setting some Call duck eggs in a couple of days :) BTW you shouldn't candle them too often, from what I've read....

    Wait until day 7/8 for candling as it will be a lot clearer, and re candle any that you are unsure about on day 12. I have got 100% hatch rates by having the humidity at around 52% until day 26, and then between 65-70% for lockdown. Please post pics if they hatch- there is nothing cuter than day...
