Steve, thanks for the quote and the PDF. Very informative and exactly the kind of knowledge I was looking for. What are your thoughts on this method of nest boxes though? Good, bad, indifferent?

At this point I'd be happy to get the roof done.. or at least get the rafters up and tarp it off.. Been raining so much can't even get that done.. Oh well, good to plan ahead though.. Anyone else have a community box, or have pro/con comments about them?

RHewitt, yup, you basically nailed it... Just a long nest box minus the dividers. I've got an opening framed out in my wall that is 15 x 44".. Was planning on framing up boxes, but may just do a single long box @ 17 x 45" and bolt it to the coop wall instead.

What all is in the (pickle?) jars above it?

Those are nice nest boxes, indeed.. but they're not a community box.

You see alot of nest boxes on here, but it's hard to pinpoint those who use community nests and even harder to find pictures of them. Post up your community nest box pictures and tell me why you like them (or why the birds like them) better than the standard 12x12's. Thanks!
