Update: he has stopped laying down a lot. Unfortunately after some considerations i will not be breeding him and sadly will be giving him away to a friend. Firstly from around 10-14 eggs i got he was the 1 out of 3 that hatched (local not shipped). And he was the only one that survived.
One had...
update on him, not sure if im just making it up or what but he seems to be more active!
him laying down too much made me miss out on his personality. He sure is a gentlemen even though he is still a cockerel, friendly towards me too as he knows where the treats come from.
unfortunately he is a...
ah, really sad that i might not be able to keep him long term. i don't have much space to keep him seperate from the flock as i already have a pet roo.. he's a gentlemen of a cockerel. i will be watching him as he grow, i was wondering about a heart problem too, don't think ive seen his comb...
Got some poultry b complex vitamins. Its in pill form. It says i could just give the pill to the chicken or give it in drink form. Would giving it in the drink be okay for the other chickens?
Yeah im rethinking about breeding him, even if i breed him if this continues he might now have much energy to fertilize all the eggs, spending most of his days laying down.
No i haven't, but i did feed niacin to my ducks. I might try getting him some vitamins for him. Would it be okay for the...
Hmm i wonder too.
Hes around 2.5 kg so around 5.5 lbs. (not sure how accurate it is as my scale sometimes show lower than what the real weight it)
Not sure id you wanted a front or side picture. Here he is with a gaping mouth. He was laying down before i called him. He can run when i call but...
Think when he was two months old 4 but now i think a bit more than 3. The keel is not sticking out but his muscle is not over the keel either.
But he is really heavy. Not sure his exact weight but when i picked him up he is heavy. And he is only around 3 months old!
Got him from a breeder, he keeps the breeds in aviary things. Weird that he would be cornishx but he does act like those i see on videos. He runs around for a bit then lays down. Even lays down while eating. 🤔
Oh really?, what about the shiny feathers and saddle feathers that are coming in? He hasn’t started crowing so that is the only thing that makes me kinda doubt he is a roo. But his comb reddened and started a three row very very fast for a hen.
Aw thats a very cute chick you have.
Do you know...
Im not sure if this cockerel is lazy, obese, or has some kind of condition. He is a brahma cockerel so he is a big breed. But i have realized he is a bit rounder than my other brahmas (they are pullets though).
I have felt that he sits down an awful lot. He would pant a lot too even if he is...
