    If I am understanding correctly your pool area is gated and the babies can't get out? Can foxes get in? Momma duck could fly in, couldn't she? Maybe tomorrow you could finish the house for them by your shed and you can lock momma in with them?

    If you've got a great blue heron dropping by that could very well be the culprit. When we lived in Florida the heron would pick off the little sweet ducklings all the time until there were none! They'd just eat them in one swallow. It was heartbreaking. Osprey will too.
