If they're actually wheaten.. then around 2 or 3ish weeks (if I recall correctly) the boys will start to feather in much darker. And by 6 weeks there should be NO question.
Not regarding the pattern, but regarding wing feather sexing.. I believe that is only done on fast feathering breed cross...
