Is it okay to shut the incubator off at Day 25 for chicks? The one hasn’t grown since Day 14 and i didn’t see any movement... the other one is hard to tell but the egg isn’t filled out. It looks like the day 14 egg.
No I haven’t candled them.. one is a maran so I couldn’t ever see in it. The other had a chick in it at Day 14 but it wasn’t very big for day 14 so it may have died before that.. I could check tonight and see though.
Just two babies hatched out for me total I think. There’s still two eggs in the incubator, but they’re on day 24 now. Should I call it quits on them?
The two that are out are healthy sweet little balls of lavender fluff! I’m in love! 😍 Tomorrow Im picking up an 8x8 coop sooo excited. I’ve been...
I think it’s technically 95 from what I’ve read. I usually keep mine at 95 and it’s perfect those first few days, but I do watch them to see if they need it warmer or cooler.
How long do you think I should wait? I'm just anxious because now the first one has been in there 36 hours. The second hatched has been in 24 hours. There are two eggs left.. I thought I remember someone saying something about Marans taking longer to hatch but I can't' remember. The one is a BCM.
One hatched 5am Friday morning and one 5pm friday night. So it’s been 16 hours with no action. I might be seeing wiggles in one of the eggs, but that was the one I thought had stopped developing.
Those colors are sooo cool!! I love it! I thought the bottom one was a keet or something 😂
Love those gosling pics! What kind are they?
I am on Day 22 and wondering about the other two eggs left in the bator I’m not sure they’re developing or not... the other two chicks are pretty rambunctious and want to come out lol. Can I take them out of the other ones don’t have pips and then...
My second baby hatched! The lavender americauna! Now there are two more eggs left that haven't pipped that I can see and I'm not even sure they are developing
Here’s my first baby! A little silver colored Olive Egger. The lavender americauna has a pip now too and i thought i saw wiggles on the other two eggs but it’s hard to tell. The L. A. has been pipped since 5am... I hope it comes out soon.
Yay!!! Anyone using the brinsea advance? I am wondering if when the screen says Day 1 if on day 0 it shuts off automatically. I’m hoping not in case some take longer to hatch
I didn't check because at Day 14 I couldn't see anything besides the dark space filled up. I figured better to not mess with them although I regret not checking the air cells now. 😔
Ugh! So frustrating.... this is my first hatch and I just worry I did something wrong. They aren't shipped, but I had to drive and get them and they were waiting on a cold porch outside so I'm not sure what the issue is. I've got 4 out of 8 total that made it to lockdown and one may have been...
Yay! I love seeing all those cute babies! Mine have entered day 20 now and I can't stop checking for pips... nothing yet but they just entered day 20 four hours ago lol.
I was scrolling through facebook and saw a post for help with a little chick. the chick was making chewing motions even though it had been out of the egg for a full day. From you guys helping me learn in this thread I helped the lady to look at its navel and it turns out the person who sold it...
No I don't think there is any withdrawl for it that I remember. I've used permethrin too and it didn't do anything for me :/ Also permethrin smells a lot stronger to me than elector psp. I'm a big fan! Lol. All I did was spray each hen's vent and a little spray under their wings and then cleaned...
I've bought two sets of birds with lice before.. I was so mad, but I found elector psp and that stuff works miracles! I posted on facebook if anyone had some they would sell because it's so expensive new and found someone who sent me some for free! I never have a mite problem again after using it.
