I can try again. In the past I've tried apples, pears, apple sauce, jam, and chicken feed. The only one I caught was eating chicken feed at the coop, and that's where I got him!
My dogs will take care of any in the back yard, but can't get to the barn or coop.

I hate to use something that will injure a non-target critter. Any bait suggestions for that live trap? Closing their holes after putting poison down there? They are good at digging new openings, I'd worry about that too. :he

ONCE I trapped a ground hog in a live trap, and never again. I've had them under the barn floor for a couple of years, and hate to use poison, but this is a real issue. Any ideas?

I still enjoy the ground squirrels/ chipmunks, and do have too many ground hogs. Way too many, living under the barn (not bar!) and very difficult to trap. I don't have the time or desire to wait to see them and shoot, but would be delighted to get them that way.

Nothing more than usual at the coop and barn, and no rats noticed either place.
I do have unexpected guests in our attic; mice and red squirrels! Complete with three (!!!) openings chewed into the underside of the roof for easy access and egress! Dealing with a critter control company now...
