    I'd play it by ear, if you really want to keep him. Just watch him carefully. Walk through him, never around him. Make him move for you. If he shows the slightest aggression, get rid of him. If you do have kids, you can defend yourself... they can't.

    Keep in mind that if you keep the 'timid' or nice one... once the other two are gone, his personality could change because the flock dynamic has changed. In all reality, if your not planning on breeding you really don't need a cockerel/rooster at all.
