    Pullet for sure. She ended up laying her first egg at 27 weeks old at the end of August.

    Well the chicken is 19 weeks and 1 day today. Here are her current pictures. Now, I believe she is a pullet. I haven't noticed any pointy sickle or saddle feathers.

    I will keep my eye on them over the next week or so. I will to have to go to the feed store in about that time. Just in case, I will call ahead and ask when they get their next shipment in of chicks. I would hate for her to only have 2 hens when she built such a nice big coop. Maybe I will...

    Uh, oh! She has a second Buff Orp., that is not as pink or as big in the waddles, but she is a little, and is more than my older one. Her legs are exactly the same size as this one in the photos. That was the first thing I looked at a couple of weeks ago when the waddles started showing up...

    Yeah, I am thinking roo because here is a picture of my Buff Orpington pullet at 10+ weeks. However, I have ZERO experience sexing chickens. I only can compare pictures.

    Okay, so my neighbor is very worried. Two out of 5 of her chicks that are supposed to be pullets are looking a little suspicious. I posted a pic of the Australorp in a thread with mine, but here is the buff orpington. She/he is 7 weeks old, 8 weeks on April 23rd. Any opinions on the gender...
