Depending on what they are mixed with, it’s hard to tell the difference, especially right away. My satins are born looking like silkie chicks until their feathers come in. Even then my satin hatches silkies too since the Roo is a Silkie and she’s half Silkie herself. Obviously they are still...

Here are some pictures of the young ones. The two pullets and the showgirl Silkie are 7 weeks old. The bigger one is 3-4months old. I’ll be having the showgirl and bigger one dna tested soon hopefully. 😊

I currently have 3 broody silkies and my satin Diamond broody. Chicks should start hatching this weekend. 😊

Broody Hens! One of the Silkies, Sapphire, & my Satin, Diamond, are both broody. If all goes well we should have chicks hatched by the 22nd. 😊

The results are in 😁 Tournaline(#1) is in fact a Cockerel! Opal (#2) & Onyx (#3) are both Pullets! I unfortunately don’t have space for any other Roo so I won’t be keeping Tourmaline. 🙁

Waiting for the DNA test results but what do y’all think? Pullets or Cockerels? I have my guesses but want to see what y’all think. 😁

Oooo I’m picking up a new little Silkie tomorrow. I couldn’t resist. It’s a color I don’t have yet. 😂 Here is the one I chose and their rooster. There were a few different color hens with the rooster so I’m not sure which color hen she came from.

I really want to add a showgirl to my Silkie coop! You don’t see them at all in my area though. Those little fluff butts are so cute!!
