    Little girl fell in water

So, so far I've only gotten one answer on my original topic was... My chick is doing fine now, it just seems like she is struggling to hold herself up. Sometimes she stumbles and others she walks fine. When she sleeps she lays on her side and when she wakes up she's alert and alive. Anyone know...

    Little girl fell in water

I was going to buy one but I saw they were pretty expensive, and I was watching plenty of chick rearing videos on YouTube where their only source of heat was the lamp. I'll get a MHP in the future but for now things are going well with what I have available.

    Little girl fell in water

It's pretty bright so of I don't turn it off it will mess with the chicks sense of day and night, and they might never go to sleep. They are doing well with the heat lamp on during the day, and the heater on at night. They even dried up over night with only the space heater and some ventilation...

    Hmmm I'm gonna try that

    Little girl fell in water

You said the heater isn't enough, and I'm responding with my good experience using it. Not sure how that translates to "I don't want advice" but good luck to you too.

    Little girl fell in water

From what I've read the ducks aren't waterproof unless their mother coats them with an oil she produces, so the ducks have gotten wet before and as you can see from the picture they were a little wet. If they were responsible they would have been soaked just like the chickens.

    Little girl fell in water

It's already pretty warm where I am. Nights only get down to around 70-75, and with the heater on they seem to be doing really well. With the research I've done if they aren't spread out everywhere, or huddled in a corner then the temperature is right.

    Little girl fell in water

No the waterer is the only source of water. They get half in and dunk their heads in, but I haven't seen them splash so much that they wet any of the other chicks

The ducks aren't the problem though, sure they're messy but they don't have the capability of doing THAT.

    Little girl fell in water

Yes I have a heat light, but we were getting ready for bed so I turned it off and turned a little space heater I have on. For some reason the heater wasn't on when I walked in though but as soon as I turned it on they all gathered there. This morning I checked on them and they're all dry and...

    Little girl fell in water

It looks like the ducks have water on them, but that's a normal amount of water for them to have. They're not soaked like the chicks.

    Little girl fell in water

Update Somehow ALL 13 of my chicks got soaked in water, but not one duckling... That is the strangest thing I've ever seen, because there didn't seem to be any good explanations. I had just given them some fresh water and when I came back they were all soaked, but the waterer wasn't at an...

    Little girl fell in water

Maybe, she seems to be doing a bit better though. She looks like she's gonna make it, but she's not as wild as the other chicks.

    Little girl fell in water

I'm not sure, the chicks I got already have some feathers coming in but they're still small.

    Little girl fell in water

One of my chicks, that is already smaller than the rest, fell in the water and got soaked yesterday. I tried drying her off but it wasn't much help. She's been very quiet and doesn't move much anymore. Do you think she's in shock, just a little cold, other??
