Yes, meloxicam. Ive never tried it but read pretty good things about it. I did give 81 aspirin in the past. Best day ever when I was told if I pulled on the wattles the beak came open and the pill went right down.
I dont know what it is but there is pain meds for chickens. Im glad she is better. If you havent gotten it all yet try squirting some betidine with a syringe and maybe it will flush or at least help kill some of the bacteria then when she isnt as sore you can go round 2 w/ her. After all that...
eggsactly ! I have been reading you and I think your pretty good. I wont be surprised to see an educator badge under your name some day. " Just my opinion I have literally nothing to do w/ that. "
Really, your not dumb. Shouldnt say that. If you think like you had a boil, how would you treat it ? soaks and bust or vet ? Vets are so expensive and for small stuff you can treat at home I would. I would also wear gloves cause sometimes that a staph infection and contagious.
the purple stuff isnt good for much except hiding it from other chickens. Triple antibiotic on it w/o the pain reliever in it. for a couple days should soften the scab up if you want to wait.
Chicken pus id different then ours. It hard like a rock. The stuff Wyorp recommended will also soften what looks to be a scab then you should , hopefully be able to remove the infection.
