    OK, so its NOT a pet...but....

    You should probably take it to a safe area and turn it out. This time of year they become cold and slow and sluggish, then go into a hibernation state. If you put it somewhere safe where dogs and cats can't get to it it will find a good hidey hole to to spend the winter...
