This week i am going to pick up two more orpingtons from one of the biggest supplier of orpingtons in england, the only problem is which type do i get?
I've got a huge lav that's gone broody and she is sitting on 10 legbar and 10 quail eggs she seems to fit them under her easily :D. They will be hatching on Tuesday.
I'm just really stuck what to do with all these roosters I mean I'm breeding buff black lavender and blue and I don't want them to go to the pot it would be a waist because they are quality birds I'm selling orpingtons next spring if any one wants to buy some £25 hen £10 rooster contact me at...
What I found out is that if there back feathers or wings can't queit remember if there feathers are not straight and there out of line with each other there a hen but if there in line there a rooster and you can spot this from a day old:D
It's annoying when you put so much effort into looking after them and they end up mostly rooster, one question what will you do with all those roosters ?
She certainly is and a dam sight good one this is the best example of a blue Orpington I've seen I would breed some chicks with this one get a good rooster !
I haven't got any lavender orps at the moment for sale but I will have a selection of hens next summer and I will also have blue, black, buff and black cuckoo orpingtons if you want to contact me my email : [email protected] :D
