It might be, is it white, or a silvery color? Moonspots will usually be a silver or brownish color, but they can’t be white. His base color is buckskin so it shouldn’t have anything to do with that…I included a pic of a buckskin kid who was born with both color moonspots for reference

You’re welcome ☺️ So it’s a scorecard that you check against the color of their inner eyelid, and it tells you whether they’re good, or if they need deworming. Here’s an article that tells how to use it, and it has a picture of the chart...

I agree with @muddy75 on the “see no touch” method, since she’s so much smaller they’ll probably still bully her, but if they’re adjacent for a while they should at least get used to her 🙂

Google is giving me mixed answers, but if you’re not using it until fall I think you should be ok 🙂 That dewormer is so-so in my experience; my herd is entirely resistant to it so I don’t use it, but it’s going to depend on your area. If I remember correctly it only treat roundworms? I’ve used...

I posted this on my fb goat groups but they were very unhelpful 😂 Does anyone have any ideas for National Dairy Goat Awareness Week? It’s tomorrow through next Saturday, I wanted to do something fun on my farm page to celebrate, but I have no idea what to do 😅 Unfortunately I work all week, so...

Ralphie and Reagan go to their new home tomorrow! Rune doesn’t have a home lined up yet, so I’m not sure if he’s going in the buck pen or staying with mom for awhile longer 🤔 He’s getting wethered either way, I just don’t think I want to start 2x day milking yet 😂 Ralphie and Reagan Rune

How exciting! They always choose the most inconvenient areas lol 😂 I usually wait until they settle in, and then add some extra straw or even a towel on the ground right behind them 🙂 Good luck!

I’m not on Backyard Herds yet, but I can try to answer your question here if you’d like 🙂 For a navel dip, I take the 10% iodine and just mix it with water, I usually fill a pc cup or very small container with water, and pour in iodine until the mixture is almost as dark as the iodine. You only...

Good point, I didn’t think of that with my original post! I don’t have a lot of predators in my area, just coyotes, and my goats all come inside to the barn and 6’ fence at night. They are very much pets, and I milk and show them, so no horns is really beneficial for my herd. 🙂

How exciting! The biggest thing I can think of right now is that I HIGHLY recommend getting goats without horns. It is a personal preference and in some cases doesn’t make a difference, but horns are the bane of my existence lol  Pet goats, especially Nigerians, just sell better...

I’m not sure if this would work for you, but during the summer I like to use truck fairings as shelters. I was able to get a few of them for free and they work pretty well. I know a lot of people like to use doghouses or even those big plastic water totes or calf hutches 🙂
