Lol, I hear you about the exercise part. That’s terrible your chicken hit the barn though! I definitely don’t want them leaving our fence if I can help it. It’s not like there is anything super dangerous on the other side, I just don’t want our neighbors to dislike us...
Good to know! It looks like of the rooster is a buff Orpington and the 5 hens are buff orpingtons and australorps, I’ll have to get a better look today when the rain lets up. My mom has buffs and she says they don’t tend to fly as much 🤷🏻♀️ What breed(s) do you have?
Thankfully the person we got them from gathered them up so I didn’t have to try and wrangle chickens, tonight at least lol. I will keep that in mind if I need to in the future though, interesting concept.

These are our firsts. We actually just finished getting them in our coop here. As it turns out the family member we got them from corralled them all up and my husbands parents transported them here so huge stress off my shoulders. There is one rooster and 5 hens and we will be getting 3 chicks...
So we are being gifted a flock of chickens (about 7/8 including a rooster) and are going tomorrow night to get them. Does anyone have an recommendations how to catch them? They are free range and not trained to come when called as I understand so we are going at night when they come back to roost.
