I know I have to scrub/disinfect everything in the coops, but it's just the ground for a floor....how can I make that cleaner? Shovel out as much of it as I can and add new? I want to switch to sand, but haven't been able to get any here yet.
Oh! I almost forgot....we did have a bout with fowl pox run through my flock, but they are all over it now. No one has had any signs of it at all for a couple of weeks. And I believe that started after my first chicken acted sick.
As soon as everyone was 18 weeks they all got switched over to Purina Layena, which is one other reason why the two groups have stayed separate until now. The feed has always looked fresh, no issues with that.
I sent an email to my contact at the Dept of Ag to see what she has to say. I don't really have anything to properly mail her off in. So I'd need to figure that all out with very little money until next week. I don't think I can safely keep her body refrigerated for over a week like that.
I have not yet wormed them, but plan to this weekend. I haven't seen a lot of the symptoms I see listed for needing to worm them. But have just started seeing some poops that make me think cecal, but literally no other signs of anything. I haven't even seen the cecal worms just the poop...
