Hey everyone!! I just thought i’d update y’all again! She is doing amazing! She’s about 2 weeks now and her feathers around her butt are growing back and the redness is just about gone. She has put on a few more ounces (thanks to the egg, tofu and nutri drench) Shes at the young chicken stage...
thank you for your concern! She is no longer being picked on (because the swelling is getting better) and is doing a good job fitting in with the others, like @Wyorp Rock said i didn’t see a point to keep her away from the others if she wasn’t being bullied or pecked at! I just wanted to thank...
she’s doing much better! her butt is starting to heal up and she hasn’t had pasty butt in 2 days! her feathers are starting to come in and we r just trying to get her to gain weight now as the others are three times her weight. She is doing such a good job managing for her self and fighting her...
i had her separated but noticed she wouldn’t stop squealing and wasn’t eating. i decided it was best to put her back with the others. the swelling has gone down and as of today i haven’t witnessed any pecking 🤞
hi all i just thought i would update you on miss lucy! She seems to be still thriving and still being her adorable self. I read about the benefits of prep H for a swollen vent so i’m going to give that a try. As for her size i’m going to give a few drops of nutri drench a try. I woke up this...
thank you for all your help! i applied cortisone cream and have watched her closely. she seemed to like the boiled egg and is eating pooping and drinking like normal
so i found normal witch hazel and tried to push it in but it didn’t budge. i was able to get more clearer photos of it though. am i not pushing hard enough?
thank you! will thayers witch hazel work? also the chicks have seemed to lay off her so i’m worried of separating them as she seems to be clinging to them
thank you very much! this might sound stupid but how should i push it in i don’t want to hurt the chick if it’s not supposed to be pushed in. and will separating the chick stress her out more ?
this is very helpful thank you very much i will try that. do you think the problem with her behind will diminish on her own if i continue to keep it clean?
thank you very much. she’s only 4 days old so would eating things like eggs be okay for her digestive system? i think my plan is going to be just trying to keep strong and gain weight and hope the pink ball in her butt solves itself🤞
this morning when i woke up i noticed she had another case of pasty butt even after i put vasaine on her last night so i cleaned that up and that’s why she is a little wet. she’s eating and drinking and moving around like normal but at certain times all the other chicks gang up on her and peck...
hey all today I discovered one of our baby chicks had pasty butt. i’ve dealt with pasty butt before and did the same thing i always did which was hold luke warm watered down paper towel down to it. after i got it off i put her back in the brooder. the others chicks wouldn’t stop chasing her down...
