We started with 24 eggs, this is batch 3. We moved 16 into the hatcher and a malfunction killed 4 more. One pipped yesterday at noon, loud! Still no other progress, but it's still pipping. Eleven other eggs, to go. I'm afraid to get overly excited.
I don't know what happened, but today is their 25th day, yesterday they were all moving, and then ladt night and today, bloody red tinge and no movement. Two well formed peking ducklings in a shell. We are heartbroken.
I'll try to get a better pcture next time I candle them, but the other eggs have one jumpy little embryo, and this one has two, separately jumping little ones. Three of us were looking when we saw them each move, they all got excited.
I'm on my second batch attempt at hatching now. My first one was a complete failure. However, I have to say, I did EVERYTHING wrong! I used a permanent marker, I didn't rotate my eggs prior to incubating, MOST were greater than 15 days old, I didn't know my still air incubator was at the...
Do any of you have any experience hatching twins? I have just candled my peking duck eggs, 9 Days in, and I was very surprised to see, not one, but TWO jumping embryos. I am not sure what, if ANYTHING, I need to do to make sure these guys hatch. Do they hatch earlier? Later?
