Yes! That's the 6x10. Good luck and have fun with it. I never thought I'd get hit by the chicken math. I mean, I always planned to add new chicks every year culling out the boys and such keeping the number in check. But there I was at the feed store when the day old chicks came in, and I...

    Woods Fresh Air Poultry House

My goal for flock size was between 6- 10, but my will power broke and I'm now at 16. When you read the book he gives several plans on different size houses. I believe there is a plan for a 6x10 coop in the book. The important part is keeping the ratios correct of the front and rear sections to...

I love it in all aspects. It did great in the snow, rain and wind. On bad weather days when they stay in, they really turn the deep litter thoroughly. Woods Fresh Air Poultry House

I'm in Virginia, pretty mild winters here. This coop style was designed in New England and should be able to withstand some harsh white stuff. Plus on mine I over built with the lumber I had available (free). In fact it's so over built that if we have another earthquake here I'm diving for the coop.

Thanks Jack. I do need to thank you for posting your coop, it inspired me to buy Dr. Woods' book when I was doing the research to build my own coop. It is such a simple yet smart design. I built it out of lumber that came from large sized industrial pallets that gave me some nice and big 2"x8"...

The side windows open "in" and hook to the ceiling. I still need to fabricate hardware to operate the monitor windows, they are just propped open for now.

I just finished my new scratch shed. I based it off of the Dr. Prince T. Woods open air poultry coop.
