Couple chicks are very lethargic...EDIT: 4 died...

I also wanted to say that Ideal took care of us. They offered to send us replacements, with of course, a bunch of packing peanuts, or refund the money for not only the 4 that died, but also the cross beak and there is one with an eye problem. They called, replying to my weekend emails, an hour...

Couple chicks are very lethargic...EDIT: 4 died...

At the coolest point it's 71 degrees. The brooder is set up so that only half of the walls going up each side are solid, the rest is plastic poultry fencing. I took the picture below just now so you can see what I'm talking about. The bottom is actually one of those cheap book cases from walmart...

Couple chicks are very lethargic...EDIT: 4 died...

The temp at the hottest point is 88 degrees, but they have TONS of room to move away from that spot. Shouldn't that be alright?

Couple chicks are very lethargic...EDIT: 4 died...

Boy, I don't know what to think. I guess if it was an issue we probably would have dealt with this in the past, but except for one or two that had hatching problems and died in the first day, we haven't had issues. How frustrating. On top of all that, we now have one that has spent the last 20...

Couple chicks are very lethargic...EDIT: 4 died...

No, we actually hit the mid 60's today, plus they are brooding in our living room the first couple weeks, like we've always done. It's 70 in the house, and the brooder is right around 90, give or take a degree. That's of course, at the hot spot. We've never had our water checked, but it's the...

Unfortunately, she didn't, and another just dropped. Now I'm really, really worried.

Couple chicks are very lethargic...EDIT: 4 died...

Well, it looks like the deaths just might end at 2. The third is still isolated, but is eating and drinking on it's own, and moving around a good bit. I figure it took 3 days to put it in bad shape, probably take that long till it's all right again. Going to keep it separate until it's not...

Couple chicks are very lethargic...EDIT: 4 died...

I've turned it down a bit. I only have one in the ER now, 2 died so far. The final one is perking up a little bit. Just like with the water, I started dipping it's beak in the food. I placed a very shallow small dish with food in the ER tank, and set the bird right in it. Eventually, after a few...

Couple chicks are very lethargic...EDIT: 4 died...

Lost a second over night. 3rd is still very lethargic, and doesn't appear to be eating. I've dipped it's beak in sugar water a few times more. Also scrambled some egg and dipped it's beak in that too, hoping it would see it was food, but no go yet...

Couple chicks are very lethargic...EDIT: 4 died...

The hot spot seems to be right around 95, so I think it's warm enough. Hate losing chicks...

Couple chicks are very lethargic...EDIT: 4 died...

On the flip side, I have some chicks with giant crops! I'm sure they've over eaten. Is that ok? I don't want to take the food away...

Couple chicks are very lethargic...EDIT: 4 died...

Picked up 25 rare pullet chicks today from the PO we bought from Ideal. Most are doing great, but I have a couple that are very, very lethargic. I've put sav-a-chick in the water, and made them drink, but they are basically just sitting there. Anything I can do? All 3 that are lethargic are...
