floating only means there is an air sack not that the egg is good, if the egg is good you will see it move, it may not be a lot but it will move.
thanks... I read that too, thats when I decided to go ahead and open them.
debiraymond - Sorry to hear that... Wishing you a great...
chick-a-bone2 - I totally agree with you... I figured they were dead, I was just hoping I told my husband today that something was wrong, its been too long, the other 19 hatched out Friday and Saturday, if these were going to hatch they would have already done it... thats when I decided to...
I opened the last 13 eggs and they were all dead... different stages. Its sad, but I know its nature I'm happy that the other 19 hatched and our doing great! Thanks Guys for chatting with me... I'm starting another hatch this Saturday... I think I'm only going to put 1 bantam and 1 EE egg in...
I just read this...
66. How long should I leave the eggs in the incubator if they do not hatch on the twenty-first day?
Leave the unhatched eggs until the 23rd or 24th day.
*Today is day 24 for these 13 eggs, if they dont hatch by morning, I'm calling it quits
The YardFarmers - Good luck...
I'm gonna keep waiting and hoping today, tomorrow, then I dont know... cause it will be day 26, guess I should give up.... Got to put another hatching in this Saturday.

I do this with quail, dark chicken eggs shells are thick and hard to see into. Use water that is the same temp as your eggs, if it is alive you will see it move.
I just might have to try this.........

Don't open them yet if all you see is dark! If they are dead, you will know soon enough. The dark area will get smaller and you'll see space around it, and it should slosh around a bit when you rotate the egg. Its pretty easy to tell when they're dead, so if you're not sure...
I went ahead and candled them... I cant tell, they all still have their air sack, I cant see any movement, its dark, I was going to open one, but I'm too scared... what if its still alive, I'm going to leave them in tonight and see how tomorrow goes.
That is the question Day 23, 13 eggs left... nothing, not a pip or so much as a wiggle So should I candle them or leave them be til Wed.? I'm still hearing a tiny knock sound but cant tell which egg (if any) it is. I'm slowly going insane
