Thank you bay bay. The way I see it is that my Welsummer isn't dead and it's been like 3 weeks. And with my langshan she is still eating a little bit, so that I know is better than the last time she was sick.
Ok so I saw this this morning. That looks more like blood to me then her previous droppings. I started her on corid, I don't know what else to do. I really don't gave the money to take either of them to the vet right now.
Is this intestinal lining or blood??? I'm not sure. It's her 3rd or 4th poop that I have seen like this since last night. Other poop is formed and looks normal. So I'm not sure.
Sorry for the nasty poop picture.
Ok, well atleast I know I'm on the right track. Thank you Kathy. Myrtle (Welsummer) and Beatrice (langshan) have very much benefited from your knowledge. Thank you . :)
In the hens you have treated with metronidazole (x2weeks), how quick did they turned around?? Mine is still about the same.
I do think there is some type of enteritis going on....is metronidazole ok for treating that??
This hen is my Welsummer and now my langshan (the original hen having...
That is so crazy to me. Fish metronidazole is the same as animal/human metronidazole. Same chemical formula. I could take it if I had too!! Lol. Sooooo crazy to me.
Hey Kathy,
Do you have on hand the websites to get the metronidazole from. I am determined to become a chicken pharmacy lol. Need to have this stuff on hand just incase. :):cd
The honey/water worked well. This is how I used to give it to my cat. It was a crushed up metronidazole with some nasty smelling liquid that allowed them to take the metronidazole....cuz it's nasty tasting. Lol. With my cat I believe I gave it to her for 7 days...same for a chicken??? :)
So she would get 1.6ml of the liquid suspension that I would make. So crush up 1 whole 500mg tab or cut it in half to make 250 and crush up that?It taste horrible...lol.
