They were packed really well, and the box was clearly labeled fragile and even had a note to the post office to call me for pick up, which I appreciate. Nobody actually called me, but that's not his fault :D Overall I've been VERY happy with Papa's and would recommend him heartily!
Wow, that's some wishlist! Yes, I had good luck with the eggs and was very happy with the results. My hatch rate was just about exactly 50%, which is what you'd expect from shipped eggs anyway. They traveled coast to coast from CA to MA, so I was pleasantly surprised and impressed that...
Thanks! I got them from Blue House Farm in NC (I got hatching eggs shipped to me). Interestingly, mine have the highest-pitched voices of the flock. Their talking voices sound like somebody's holding a note at the top of the range on a violin!
Another update: they are all laying now, and still get along great, with no laying-related drama. They tend to all want to use the nesting boxes at the same time, as chickens tend to do, but they wait their turn. Or, the most they'll do is crowd around the box and yell at the laying pullet to...

In case anybody finds this thread and is wondering the same thing, I just wanted to post an update (and wow, it's been more than a year!)
I ended up hatching Orpingtons and Barnevelders and raising them together. They are all 5 months old now and get along great! I've had no drama or problems...
@oldhenlikesdogs thank you for the reply! Mine will be mostly pets, eggs will be a bonus. So friendliness is a must. They do look gorgeous even in pictures! I found a breeder who has strikingly colored orpingtons, too - jubilee, spangled, mottled etc. So this is gonna be one colorful flock!
I was planning on getting just Orpingtons, but recently discovered Barnevelders and now I really want some of those, too! So pretty, and such nice temperament. They both seem like very mellow, friendly, easy-going breeds, which is exactly what I want. Both are prone to being bullied, but I'm...
