Just curious about scaly leg mites. My two Sebrights have it quite badly, but none of my other chickens? I have quite a mix of 8 other birds.
Also, just curious about the sun. In the heat, the rest of my birds retreat to the shady part of the run. But not my sebrights. They spread right...
I would say boy. The attempting to crow isn’t much of an indicator because from what I have gathered, female Sebright chicks will attempt to crow as well! The comb and wattles are a dead giveaway though. Not sure what your situation is for roosters but he will not be a loud crower. There are...
So my crowing Sebright laid an egg today so its confirmed that she is just nuts. We integrated all our birds this weekend after 4 weeks in a kennel. They are terrorizing the little bantys they are in with. We put a 6 foot tall divider between the new birds and my existing flock and they like...
Wow thats great! I think I am going to put my son in 4H as well. I think if I ever turned mine to free run I would never see them again  I showed my son the video, maybe we can start working with them a little!
They are quirky for sure! These 2 are not tame at all. They hate us. We let them out to hang out with our other bantys and they terrorize them. I let my american game hen visit with them and they kept pecking her bum! She let them do it about 5 times and then gave a little warning peck and...
We have a rooster outside and a young one right next to her. She seems to do it when both of them are going in the morning. She does a bunch of squawking first and then one little screetchy crow.
This is my crowing culprit a few weeks later. Still looking very pullet like except for that one nubin standing up on the comb. I was told these would be purple combed. I estimate about 15 weeks.
It sounds like it’s trying to crow. It hears our other rooster and yells back. Here are some pics of both of them. I assume it’s the bigger one but they both seem very pullet like to me!
