Well some people like to voice their opinions on whether or not ducklings should be walking through mud. That's why I said that they preferred the mud over the bedding.
In my opinion, it's like when little kids play in the mud. It makes them less likely to get sick from it as they grow up.
Took the babies out to enjoy the warm day for a half hour. They're now back inside.
And before some of you come at me about Colonel being near them, since I was with them the entire time they were out, he refused to get any closer.
And yes, they preferred walking through the mud over the fresh...
Ducklings #4, #5, and #6 hatched during the night. I left #2 and #3 in there all night as I didn't feel comfortable carrying them outside to the brooder as it was too cold in my opinion.
Ducklings #7 and #8 should hatch out during tonight or very early tomorrow morning.

I have to confess that I did end up helping it out of the shell near the end. I made sure to be very careful.
It's currently knocking the other eggs around in the incubator while moving around
