I am used to brooding chicks myself so giving up control to mama hen is tough for me :)
She is doing great though, makes my heart happy that she gets this chance to be a mother when she has wanted to be one for 3 years:love
I have a 4 y.o. buff Orpington who has accepted 5 bantam chicks. She was broody on nest/3 unfertilized eggs for 3 days
and we swapped the eggs for 5 chicks 2 nights ago.
Should I remove mama hen from the nest for a short break to walk, eat, poo? She hasnt left it in almost 5 days.
