    Deworming quails?

Very important to note that silica can not be forcefully coughed out, even from a human. That's the real inherent risk, but as I mentioned before you can purchase topical application forms that are pre-wetted. I would love to see more health management studies regarding quail in general. Most...

    Deworming quails?

I did see that study when I was looking for the other study on chickens as well, the thing is they were looking at coccidia and nematodes, not intestinal worms. And as a side note it kills me to read how they treat cattle, feedlots are just evil. I definitely do not throw advice out "willy...

    Deworming quails?

Not effective on all parasites would be more accurate. Show me something backed up by a controlled study versus inferred meanings based off of inhalation risk, and perceived loss of efficiency when moist. DE also provides a numerous amount of beneficial minerals, including the silica, that are...

    Deworming quails?

Oh, I am aware of all that. I thought you meant it was ineffective at killing internal parasites. They make a "pre-wetted" version for external application. I found the study from 2011 that I had read. DE can be used safely, and should not used in dust bathes but it had many other useful...

    Deworming quails?

Well if I'm spreading myths then I am misinformed. Definitely not intentional, this is what our local retired zoologist recommend to me like 10ish years ago. Can you direct me to the right information? I'll go look at some studies as well. Information I had seen before showed improved egg laying...

    Deworming quails?

For sure, fencing is worth it's weight in gold! (Especially with lumbar prices right now!) I lost 90% of my flock to dogs chewing through the fencing, I know that's kind of unrelated but, it's definitely another preventative benefit to keep unwanted animals out.

    Deworming quails?

I'm not being a super great communicator today. I was really just trying to provide info for the OP in relation to you mentioning DE. I know some feed brands add it into the formula already. Mainly just wanted others who may be unfamiliar with how to use it to know the basics. 🙂

    Deworming quails?

Meant to quote this in my previous reply. Personally I don't do preventative deworming, only treat when there's evidence.

    Deworming quails?

For DE to be effective you need to feed it for a full 30 days to break the life cycle, it's effective on roundworms, whipworms, pinworms, and hookworms, not sure about others. That's info I got from our vet, it applies to most pets and human beings as well. You need to purchase food grade DE for...
