    Poorly colored bar rock??

She's a pretty girl. For being oddball coloring, I sure like them.

    Poorly colored bar rock??

139 days. I put supplemental light in their coop the week after Christmas. Their cobs reddened up 4-5 days later. May be coincidence, but eggs tell me the light is worth it. Right now lights on at 315am.

    Poorly colored bar rock??

Today's haul from 8 pullets. Yesterday was four, day before was one. The dark brown one is as dark as my dominant coppers eggs were. So far these four oddball rocks and the 4 normal colored ones are my favorite chicken breed.

    Poorly colored bar rock??

All I’m saying is I don’t believe I was complaining about poor coloration from quarter apiece straight run chicks. Right now, I like the coloring well enough to attempt to duplicate it. Almost ‘buy a BR cockerel and a few BO pullets’ ready. They are unique.

    Poorly colored bar rock??

I’m not displeased with their coloring. I paid $0.25 each out of the straight run bin. 8/8 were pullets (I was wanting one or two cockerels.... it’s probably why I had straight pullets). For two bucks I’m extremely happy with my odd ones.

    Poorly colored bar rock??

17 weeks old now. I have no clue what they’re crossed with, but the four of these get more comments than what I ever imagined a chicken would.

    Poorly colored bar rock??

She’s definitely the most off colored one. The other two aren’t nearly as odd.

    Poorly colored bar rock??

I have three of eight this way. I haven’t seen any for sure cockerel behavior other than this one running around fighting everyone today, then reinforcing it for a few hours after with a peck on the head to send them scurrying.
