    As they age some will get overgrown. The bigger scratchers they are, the less likely you'll have to worry about it. If you check them now and again you will notice. Just take a pair of dog nail trimmers and nip them off, but not too much at a time. Same with any animal. So, no. Not frequently :)

    It looks like some minor lifting of the scales on the toes in the first picture. Second and sixth picture is hard to tell...looks about the same. Third and seventh pictures - scales appear to be lifting on the leg and toes. Same on picture four. Picture five looks to be the "worst". Not to say...

    It does look like a minor case. I use NuStock to coat the legs, but you could also use petroleum jelly, bag balm etc. If it's freezing where you are, I would wait until the weather warms up to do so.
