I've now looked at their backs and taken a few pictures, and I only saw pin feathers on the two black chicks, 2 and 3. I tried spreading the back feathers on the others but couldn't see any pins on them..

Will only cockerels have these pin feathers along their backs? Or will the pullets have them too but have more rounded feathers coming in instead of a cockerels more pointy...
They are now 7,5 weeks, and I love watching them developing. It seems some of them are getting more rosy faces, but it seems to fluctuate quite a bit, when I come with food they have really flushed red faces, and when they're calm it seems to be more faded. Is this normal?

Thank you. I got worried cause I don't know what the equivalent of the rooster color look like in hens.. I don't think I've seen a hen with the red feathers on the back. :eek: but I'm very new to chickens so I'm sure I haven't seen much in the ways of chicken colors :rolleyes:

Am I looking at some colorful feathers growing on their backs? Is that a surefire way to tell they're cockerels or are there exceptions? :hit Their mothers are blue and father blue with some...
