I always get clean ( no fertilizer, no weed killer) grass clippings from my friends/neighbors , never had a problem with impacted crop

My older hens are allowed to rest, but the 10 and 11 year old hens still do lay some eggs 😇 but a young hen from 2020 can’t just stop laying for the rest of her life 😉 she got the message 😎

This is Goldie, she is a blue Isbar chicken with a golden kind of crest , she got attacked by a fox last year and stopped laying eggs for 9 months.. even though they are my pets, when they are young they do have to „deliver“ at some point, so I told her, you have till May to start laying again...

my always hungry hen from last year, ( she has finally started laying eggs) wondering if I‘m holding something edible in my hand, her mother is my 9 year old lead hen, who looks almost like her, she is just taller and she has a little bit different comb

I must admit, they both grew up til 2 days ago 🙈 I have 5 neighbors who don’t enjoy the roosters crowing at 5 am 😳

My hens from this year ( eggs were from my 9-year old hen) enjoying water melon during a heat wave , they can’t deny their Langschan heritage ( long legs )

The other chicken, resting in nettles 🙈 did I mention they aren’t very smart?!

One of my 2 unwanted hybrid chickens , got them from a lady who got them day old for her daughter, landlord said no after 2 weeks, so guess who was stuck with them ?! They are cute in a way but not very smart 🙈
