It seems to be hard to avoid bird feathers.

How high of a risk is it for chickens to get diseases from wild bird feathers? I found a Blue Jay feather in the leaf litter I dumped in the chicken run yesterday. Do you guys deal with Wild Bird feathers being mixed in, & have your birds ever gotten sick from it?

A year? That's quite a long time. If we have to move the location of the pile of wood chips we have a kubota Tractor we can move them with.

Why would they do that? Hopefully there's not a bunch of random junk in the wood chips when I request some. I just need to show my dad the site first.

The chipdrop site says there maybe garbage in the wood chips. Has anyone who requested a pile of wood chips had any garbage in them?

We'll need a huge amount of wood chips. We can use them in our gardens too.

I put alot of leaves, pine needles, & twigs in the standard run today. The birds are loving the heck out of it, which is great. Gonna start raking up a bunch more for the other run. We get rain on Tuesday.

I have to buy more, & I use straw for the henhouse floors, & nesting boxes. I'm down to 2 bales. Been cleaning the henhouses, before winter hits.
